Try the breakfast. It includes a variety of local cheeses and warm Madeleines that are good.

good service, we were able to check-in early which was a great help, and the hotel has parking at 10 Euros a day (a lot cheaper than anything else close) which was excellent. the hotel itself is located in the dead centre of town, between the historic Bouffay area and the cultural/shopping areas.
No restaurant, but there is so much around (including across the street that this wasn't a real problem for us.

nantes vibes and good brekkie 🥐
Rooms are lekker comfy, properly decorated, and nicely clean. Chommie at reception was chill and sorted our check-in sharp-sharp. Brekkie had a good variety, proper spread!
Only downside was the dodgy baggage trolley, kept tipping over, kinda annoying.

The decor in the hallways was a little tired and some night noise from street revellers filtered up to the room.

I expected a warm welcome and a lovely room, but my toilet stunk upon arrival and my a/c did not work at all. I thought a complimentary gesture would be the least they could do, but apparently, that's too much to ask. How very disappointing, . I almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

Front desk welcome was friendly and very efficient and had no problem answering questions and meeting requests. The room was a good size and had all amenities, including an electric kettle. Windows opened and aircon worked well. Location is very convenient to shopping, public transport, major tourist attractions and restaurants. Also close to tgv and airport. Plenty of car parking space in the basement. Free Wifi worked very well. Overall, Mercure was about what you'd expect from this category of hotel at this price level.
It's not the Hotel's "fault", but it is hard to get to by car. Nantes is a maze of one-way streets and cul-de-sacs, and if coming by car, you need a very good city map and an equally good route-planning session. Recovery from navigation slips is not easy - and was made harder by our mistake of arriving in early evening. The other drawback of the location is that the square opposite reception seems to be a night-time favourite of local malcontents. They aren't really threatening, but are noisy enough to heard through closed windows on the lower floors facing the square.

Gorgeous hotel, breakfast was very very good, excellent location close to all the attractions. The staff where decent, excellent. Location: the venue was close enough to the center of the city, and public transport. Centre Ville district was worth exploring. Overall the service was terrific. Furthermore, the parking was on site and convenient. Liked my time here.

Excellent location for exploring the area.
There was a significant amount of street noise during the night, and it often disrupted my sleep until 2-3 AM. Rooms not facing the street would not have this issue.

The only problem we found was the square around the corner from the hotel is a location for people to hang around late at night with their dogs, who are barking for hours .That square has a fountain so that's why they go there. Talking about that problem to the hotel receptionist she said the police sometimes moves them on, but they go back. At the moment Nantes is a bit of a nightmare because of all the roadworks and for people traveling by car the center is very difficult to negotiate owing to lack of road indications.
Once the roadworks have finished and the dogs move on !!!!!

Had a blast at Mercure! The location's spot-on, really central. The breakfast spread was ace with local goodies. Only bummer was the Wi-Fi in the room. Could have been better for my work.

Staff was friendly, courteous, very responsive.
The hotel seems understaffed. For example, in the evenings if one stops for a drink in the bar it is necessary to get the front desk to call the bartender. Although it was known that air conditioning did not function (awaiting a part), there was no information given (either by booking .com or by the staff at check-in).
